Number of damaged cars in collapsed deck now 45

ATLANTA — Firefighters have found more damaged cars than originally thought but found no victims as they reached the ground floor in their search of the collapsed parking deck in Midtown Atlanta.

Atlanta Fire and Rescue spokesman Bobby Stewart said the total of cars removed reached 45, up from the 38 that had been considered the number damaged all week.

Stewart said firefighters had removed about 300 vehicles, but still had about another 400 left to tow and drive out. He said they hope to have all the cars removed by midday today.
