Train-car crash injures couple

An elderly couple was airlifted to Erlanger hospital Sunday afternoon after their vehicle was struck by a train on Spring Creek Road at the intersection of Ham and Bright roads in Reliance, Tenn.

Officials with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the call came in at about 2 p.m. Officials still don’t know if the driver didn’t hear or see the train when the passenger side was hit and dragged for about 100 yards.

The condition of the two passengers was not known late Sunday.
