
RIVERFRONT NIGHTS SCHEDULE
* Aug. 1 -- Scott Holt. Holt was the guitar player for Buddy Guy from 1989-'99. Opening act is dulcimer player Butch Ross.
* Aug. 8 -- The Dirt Drifters. These young country rockers will remind some of Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts.
* Aug. 15 -- Papa Mali with Ike Stubblefield. The chief purveyor of bayou funk and voodoo jam joins forces with the undisputed master of the Hammond B-3 organ.
* Sept. 12 -- Webb Wilder. Wilder is a Nashville legend who mixes rockabilly, country and blues. Opening act is Lefty Williams.
* Sept. 19 -- Her and Kings County. A mash-up of New York City attitude, Southern rock grooves and killer harmonies in a single, high-energy, easy-on-the-eyes party package. Opening act is Thena Dare.
* Sept. 26 -- Greensky Bluegrass. This band has shared the studio and stage with Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, David Grisman, Yonder Mountain. Opening act is Mountain Music Folk School.
The third annual Riverfront Nights Summer Music Series will get under way at Ross's Landing on Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
This year's free series will include six shows featuring blues, rock, country, bluegrass, rockabilly and funk on the Greenlife Grocery Stage.
In addition to the opening show featuring Scott Holt, concerts will be held Aug. 8 and 15 and Sept. 12, 19 and 26.
Food and beverages will be available.
This year's Riverfront Nights series features a "greener" presence, with green initiatives in place.
* Big Frog Mountain Solar will supply alternative power for the Riverfront Nights lighting system, which will reduce Chattanooga's carbon footprint.
* Friends of the Festival's Green Affair "green team" will be in place for the concert series, providing information on recycling, as well as managing the process. Recycling items will be collected by the city of Chattanooga and processed by Orange Grove Center.
* Concessions at the concert series will utilize Earth-friendly supplies.
The series is produced by Friends of the Festival and presented by BlueCross Blue Shield of Tennessee.
