ST. ELMO: Fiber to the Home work completed

Two recent news items announced more good news for St. Elmo.

First, a recent article noted that plans are in place to extend the Tennessee Riverwalk, which currently extends from downtown to the Chickamauga Dam, from Ross’ Landing to the foot of Lookout Mountain in St. Elmo. The newspaper reported that more than half of the $5 million needed has already been raised, but some property negotiations are still under consideration.

Second, EPB recently completed work on the new fiber optic lines in St. Elmo so that residents will have another option for cable, phone service and high speed Internet. St. Elmo, Highland Park and Alton Park are three of the downtown neighborhoods in which the work is being done. You’ve seen the white trucks creeping up and down our streets over the past several months. Visit Houses could get EPB fiber before June for more details.
