MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The offer of more money and newer facilities was not enough to lure the BlueCross Bowl state football championships to Chattanooga, but it’s not staying in Murfreesboro either. The TSSAA Board of Control decided Wednesday afternoon move the title games to Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tenn., for the next two years.
During the Board’s annual summer meeting at the Embassy Suites, representatives from Chattanooga, Murfreesboro and Cookeville each gave 30-minute proposals. After the presentations, Cookeville received the most votes to secure the games.
