VW opening Florida center

Volkswagen Group of America said Monday it will open its new parts distribution center in Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday as part of the German automaker's latest expansion in the U.S.

Volkswagen said the 260,000-square-foot facility will employ 40 people and service 115 Volkswagen and Audi dealers throughout the region. The automaker has spent $30 million on the facility.

The German automaker, which is building a new manufacturing plant here, is looking to triple its sales by 2018.
