Chattanooga: Two men shot this morning near East Lake Courts

Chattanooga police are investigating an early morning shooting near East Lake Courts that left two men with gunshot wounds.

Quindell Ray and Darius Hyatte told police they left a relative’s house at East Lake Courts about midnight and were headed toward Foust Street when a dark-colored pickup truck turned onto Foust, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary. The passenger then began shooting at the men.

Mr. Ray was shot in the hip, wrist and leg and Mr. Hyatte was shot in the abdomen, Sgt. Weary said. The men are in stable condition, she said.

Mr. Ray told police he could not identify any of the vehicle’s occupants.

Police located evidence of the shooting at 2118 Foust St. and are following leads to identify those involved. A motive has not been established, Sgt. Weary said.
