She was employed by the state of Tennessee Department of Children Services/ Juvenile Justice for nearly 30 years. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Germaine Bonner and DeQuest Bonner; daughter, Jerunda Holloway; sisters, Yvonne Gwyn and Beverly Bonner Bell; brother, Joe Bonner Jr. of California; and a host of relatives and friends.

Charles Robert “Pete” Havner, 59, of Signal Mountain, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in a local hospital.
Pete was born on July 9, 1949. He was a loving father and husband to Gwen for 38 years. Pete loved to work and he enjoyed helping others as much as he could. He loved his family and cared very much for each of them. He will live in our hearts and memory for all the good things he did, and he will be missed by all.

George Troxell Jr.
AIKEN, S.C. — George W. Troxell Jr., 91, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Carriage Hills Living Center.
A native of the Chattanooga area, Mr. Troxell moved to Aiken, S.C. in 2002. He worked for the WPA in the 1940s building roads across the South Pittsburg Mountain. He drove a mining truck and owned the mining commissary. In 1950, he moved to Lupton City, Tenn., to manage the Dixie Yarns Commissary. He then joined Red Food Stores (Bi-Lo) as a store manager for 25+ years. Mr. Troxell retired to take care of his wife, Mary, and enjoy hunting, fishing and gardening. He cherished time with his family, especially his granddaughters, then great-grandsons. He was a member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ridley Troxell; and his daughter, Beth Troxell Bennett.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Troxell Dunn; son-in-law, Larkin Bennett; granddaughters, Tammy (Freddie) Shafer and Jamie (Tim) Herndon; and great-grandsons, Cole and Colin Shafer and T.J. Herndon.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the North Chapel with the Rev. Danny Lewis from Center Grove Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the North Chapel.

Edward A. Tyler, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at his residence following a long battle with cancer.
He was a native of the Lakeview Community and had lived most of his life in Chattanooga. Mr. Tyler was a retired Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War with 22 years of service. He was a faithful member of Daisy Church of Christ were he served as church treasurer and song leader.

Connie was a graduate of Rhea County High School and was employed as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 13 years. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Dayton Golf and County Club. Connie was a member of Spring City Church of Christ.

He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia. He was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and Southern Gospel Music. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Korehing Southern in 1987.

She was a lifelong resident of Catoosa County and enjoyed her time fishing and camping at Lake Kathy and Lake Chickamauga.
She was a member of Ringgold United Methodist Church, Catoosa County Library Board of Directors, and The Catoosa County Garden Club. She worked for the Catoosa County Board of Education and Catoosa County Probate Judge before retiring in 1967.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. “Mac” McMillen; parents, John Patrick and Effie Lee Gordy Kittle; son, Larry K. McMillen; sister, Marion Lockett; and brother, Ralph Kittle.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Marie McMillen and Tom and Ann McMillen, all of Ringgold; devoted neighbor and friend, Jessie Thornton; grandchildren, Lisa Temple, LeAnn Engle, Reed McMillen, Jessica Parker, Casey McMillen and Jamey McMillen; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of LaFayette First United Methodist Church, where she was very active. She was an advocate of the American Cancer Society, a member of the LaFayette Woman’s Club, the Red Hat Society and Emmaus Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Louella Upton.
