On TV

On a lazy summer night filled with reruns and reality time-wasters, fans of shows past and present can still find some of their favorite stars. They might not be able to see them, but they can definitely hear their voices.

Fans of the recently canceled “My Name Is Earl” will have to check out the the 2007 kids cartoon adaptation “Underdog” (7:35 p.m., Starz) to hear “Earl” star Jason Lee narrate the film.

The direct-to-video 2008 animated hit “Tinker Bell” (8 p.m., Disney, TV-G) features a wealth of talent from series long-gone and recently canceled. They include Kristin Chenoweth (the voice of Rosetta), who appears in the just-completed “Pushing Daisies.” Lucy Liu (“Dirty Sexy Money” and “Cashmere Mafia”) can also be heard as the voice of Silvermist). Oscar-winner Anjelica Huston (Medium) is in the cast, as well as Kathy Najimy (“King of the Hill”), Jane Horrocks (“Absolutely Fabulous”) and Raven Symone (“That’s So Raven”). You can also hear “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera. Tinker Bell is voiced by the talented young actress Mae Whitman (“State of Grace,” “In Treatment” and “Thief.”)

That’s quite a cast for a film that was never released in theaters.
