Sizzlin’ Tunes for the Heat of Summer

This may be my favorite mix of music to date. I have for you this week: the Ventures, Nite Jewel, Ganglians, The Oh Sees, Disrupt, St. Vincent and a few more. Most of these tracks share a common theme of being completely infectious earworms. I included the Ventures as a tribute to the group’s lead guitarist, Bob Bogle, who passed away a few weeks ago. Enjoy the mix and let me know what you think.

Listen here.

Some Shows:

It’s a weekend of cover bands at Rhythm & Brews: 80z-Enuff will perform their versions of classic 80’s rock n’ roll on Friday night. On Saturday, Midnight Riders - a tribute to the Allman Brothers-- will perform.

Reed Thomas Lawrence will perform at Nightfall tonight at 8pm. The Miller stage is located in Miller Plaza downtown.

The Unsatisfied & Bring the Witch are at JJ’s Bohemia tonight. This will be a rocking good show. Tickets are $5.

Have a safe weekend.
