Six nominated for health care group Volunteer of Year

Five individuals and one high school group have been nominated for the Tennessee Health Care Association's 2009 Volunteer of the Year awards. The awards will be presented in August in the THCA's convention and trade show in Nashville.

Nominees for Individual Volunteer of the Year are Russell Lyons, Hazel Blanton, Alyssa Jade Garcia, Adrienne McMillan and Frankie McRee.

Notre Dame High School has been nominated for Group Volunteer of the Year. The high school students have volunteered three days a week for three years at Life Care Center of East Ridge.

Mr. Lyons has volunteered at Life Care Center of East Ridge almost daily for two years. He helps with outings, leads craft workshops and religious services and calls Bingo.

Ms. Blanton has worked every Wednesday for three years at Life Care Center of Red Bank. She leads a Bible study, takes women out to eat and helps with outings and special events.

Ms. Garcia has visited Life Care Center of Missionary Ridge several times a week for a year. She assists with activities, started a wheelchair dance group and helps patients adapt to physical challenges.

Ms. McMillan has volunteered twice a week for 10 months at Life Care Center of Chattanooga. She leads educational programs, provides and serves refreshments, calls bingo and provides game prizes and helps with outings.

Ms. McRee has volunteered each Wednesday for 11 years at Soddy-Daisy Healthcare Center. She makes one-on-one visits with patients unable to participate in field trips, helps with pet therapy, leads religious services and educational programs and provides transportation to doctors' appointments for patients.

Perhaps if Life Care spent as much money on patient care as they did on propagandizing just how loving and Christian they claim to be, the patients would be better off.

But don't take Life Care's word for anything. Money is their God. Reminds me of of Germany's Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels during WWII (look up the Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbles and see if the the current President of Life Care doesn't fit the bill).

Never trust anyone who smiles all the time. He's either a village idiot or has plans to take everything, but make you feel good about it(like Joseph Goebbles).

Remember Herr Hitler's comments, "“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it”

Life Care of America- where we want you to spend all your money then die for the next victim (or patient to fall for Life Care's propaganda).

I'd like to see a Federal Investigation of Life Care. Any takers among you brave Federal Employees or can you be bought off as have others?
