I was asked recently if I could choose just one artist/band to listen to at any given time, who would it be? My answer was, to no surprise to anyone who knows me, Richard Thompson. To me, RT (what his fans call him) represents everything good about music: his style, work-ethic, catalog, songwriting and his proficiency on the guitar, my god, all make him that much more enjoyable. And because I possess tickets to see him perform in three different cities over the next week, I thought I’d share some of his music with you. Enjoy.

Richard Thompson is at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta tonight. Tickets are still available. Showtime is 8pm.
Amy Speace is performing at 8pm tonight at Charles n’ Myrtle’s Coffeehouse this evening. Robby Hecht will perform at 8pm. on Saturday night. Both shows are by donation.
The Claire Lynch Band will perform at the Barking Legs Theater tonight. The show is at 8pm. Tickets are $15.
Sunday night, Justin Townes Earle and Roger Alan Wade are performing at JJ’s Bohemia. Tickets are $7.
