MDA Jail ‘n’ Bail

Event: Jail ‘n’ Bail

Benefits: Raised more than $12,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Association of America

Highlights: Local residents were “arrested” at work and delivered to the new Hampton Inn in Ooltewah, where they were “jailed” while they called friends and co-workers to raise their bail, which was a donation to MDA.

Purpose: Funds raised will help send children to MDA summer camp.

Second Presbyterian Reception

Event: Reception at Second Presbyterian Church marking renovation of the church sanctuary, chapel, dining room and choir room.

Campaign: The campaign to return the sanctuary close to its condition when dedicated in 1891 cost $240,000.

Celebration: Rededication ceremony and concert by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Chamber Singers, led by Second Presbyterian choir director Kevin Ford. The guest organist was David Friberg, organist at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
