UTC one win away from SoCon softball title after beating Samford

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga first baseman Michelle Fuzzard hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the Lady Mocs to a 3-2 win over Samfor in the Southern Conference softball tournament Friday at Jim Frost Stadium.

UTC rallied from a 2-1 deficit to tie the game with a run in the fifth inning on a fielders choice by Tiffany Baker. Baker was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for UTC (29-22).

Kandice Irwin pitched two innings of one-hit ball in relief of starter Brooke Loudermilk to earn the victory.

UTC will face either Samford or Georgia Southern in Saturday's title game at 1:30 p.m. Samford and Georgia Southern will meet in the losers bracket final at 11 a.m.
