Waters returning home to play softball at UTC

Former Soddy-Daisy all-state pitcher Nikki Waters has decided to return home to finish her college softball career at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Waters, who will be a junior next season, has played the previous two season at Southern Illinois University. Last season she had a record of 15-2 with a 1.73 ERA for the Salukis. In high school, she helped lead the Lady Trojans to the AAA state title in her junior and senior seasons.

Waters says she is transferring to UTC to be closer to home.
