VW, Porsche talks to lengthen

Porsche will take longer than expected to reach a merger agreement with Volkswagen, a Porsche spokesman told Reuters on Friday.

Porsche on May 6 said it set a four-week deadline for presenting the outlines of a possible merger deal with Volkswagen in which it owns nearly 51 percent.

After a squabble between the two groups, VW and Porsche on May 19 reiterated they were back on track to create an “integrated company.”

But negotiations look to drag on longer than expected, the company said. “Four weeks probably won’t be long enough” to present a merger outline, the Porsche spokesman said.

Judge blocks Craigslist action

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A federal judge on Friday blocked South Carolina’s attorney general from making any move to prosecute Craigslist executives for ads that lead to prostitution arrests while the company pursues its lawsuit against the state.

The order from U.S. District Judge Weston Houck stems from an agreement between Attorney General Henry McMaster and Craigslist. It requires McMaster “to refrain from initiating or pursuing any prosecution against Craigslist or its officers” regarding content posted on the site.
