EPB contractor shocked while installing cable

An EPB contract worker who was installing fiber-optic cable in East Ridge suffered an electrical shock Tuesday.

The incident happened outside the Lomenaque Apartments on Ringgold Road, police department spokesman Officer Erik Hopkins said. Firefighters and EMS took the man to Erlanger hospital for treatment. At last word, the contractor was listed in critical condition.

Officer Hopkins identified the man as Jessie Steele of Chattanooga.
