Tennessee: Body found after fire extinguished in trash bin

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Firefighters in Murfreesboro extinguished a flaming trash bin near Middle Tennessee State University, then found a body inside it.

Assistant Fire Chief Allen Swader told The Daily News Journal the male body was burned beyond recognition around dawn on Wednesday.

The trash container was at an apartment complex across a street from the MTSU campus.

Murfreesboro Police asked anyone who knew a white adult male with a T-shirt reading "The Pointe at Raiders Campus" to call them.

The newspaper reported the container was emptied of trash on Tuesday.

Authorities said there was no identification on the body and little evidence, other than a key.
