Firefighters battle blaze at Bradley County church

An early morning fire this morning heavily damaged the Thompson Springs Baptist Church in Cleveland, according to dispatchers with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department.

Firefighters responded to the fire around 3:15 a.m. to the church located at 5660 Bates Pike.

Dispatchers said 20 units from Bradley and surrounding counties responded to battle the blaze.

The blaze was reported under contral at 6:30 a.m., but firefighters were still on the scene.

There were no injuries and the cause of the blaze has not been determined.
