Coaches pick Lady Mocs to win Southern Conference; Hollinquest named preseason player of the year

For the third straight year, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team has been picked to win the Southern Conference by the league's coaches, and senior post player Shanara Hollinquest was selected at the preseason player of the year.

UTC received 98 points and nine first place votes in the balloting, followed by Samford with 91 points and the remaining two first place votes.

Joining Hollinquest on the preseason all-conference team was fellow UTC senior Jenaya Wade-Fray.
