Seeing abortion for what it is

A wonderful thing happened not long ago in Bryan, Texas.

Abby Johnson, director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, switched sides in the abortion debate. She witnessed an actual abortion, and it was then she realized that abortion does not involve just a "mass of cells," but rather, a living human being who deserves protection, not gruesome destruction.

"I just thought, I can't do this anymore, and it was just like a flash that hit me and I thought, that's it," Ms. Johnson told a Texas TV station.

She resigned from her position with Planned Parenthood and now considers herself pro-life.

And she does not paint a pleasant picture of the abortion industry -- which claims it promotes abortion merely as a "choice" but has a huge stake in keeping the number of abortions high. She said she was urged "to bring in more women who wanted abortions," KBTX-TV reported, and that conflicted with her beliefs as an Episcopalian.

"The money wasn't in family planning, the money wasn't in prevention, the money was in abortion, and so I had a problem with that," she told the station.

Now, she says, she feels as if a horrible burden has been lifted off her shoulders.

We commend Ms. Johnson on renouncing the abortion industry and standing for the protection of innocent life.

Good article. I saw her last night on the hated Fox Channel, probably the only TV media covering her amazing story.

She detailed how she was called in to assist the abortionist when they were short an assistant. She held the ultrasound instrument on the pregnant young woman's belly while the doctor inserted the probe. She could see the baby (13 weeks), his/her face and feet. The baby moved violently to avoid the probe, then completely "disintegrated" as the probe did its work.

Ms. Johnson mentioned she also has a three yr old daughter and thought of her when she was a tiny human in her own belly, when she first saw her on an ultrasound picture. She went home and cried, knowing she could no longer support Planned Parenthood and that women needed to know just exactly what a baby being aborted looks like in reality. They need to know the truth, that this 'cultured' society throws sometimes live, aborted humans in trash bins, in laundry rooms at our hospitals and clinics.

It's so easy to ignore gruesome facts. It's so easy to shout out for CHOICE. But all good, decent people who cry out against abortion, say "where's the baby human's choice?"
