'Bachelor's' Jason Mesnick appearing at Formal Affair

Jason Mesnick, the man at the center of the season 13 of ABC's reality dating show "The Bachelor," will greet fans and sign autographs at A Formal Affair bridal and event expo, sponsored by the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

A Formal Affair will take place Feb. 21 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

"I'm really excited to come to Chattanooga," Mr. Mesnick said. "This event is perfect for what's going on in my life right now. I'll be able to get some great ideas for my own upcoming wedding."

Mr. Mesnick is the bachelor who polarized viewers and lit up Internet message boards when he broke up with winning contestant Melissa Rycroft on-air and then asked runner-up Molly Malaney for a second chance. Mr. Mesnick and Ms. Malaney became engaged last month and were recently featured in People magazine.

Mr. Mesnick is a single dad living in Seattle with son Ty. He has used his fame to become an advocate for single parents, including founding JasonsPlace.com, an online community for single parents.

He is also a motivational speaker on the topic of tough choices and how decisions impact lives.
