The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team was the overwhelming favorite to win the Southern Conference in the preseason media poll released by the league Wednesday.

The Lady Mocs, who have won 10 straight SoCon regular-season titles, received 12 of 15 first-place votes. Samford, the runner-up to UTC last season, was picked to finish second and the College of Charleston was picked third. Defending SoCon tournament champion Western Carolina received a first-place vote but was fourth overall.
