East Ridge: Coach charged with raping 15-year-old boy

A volunteer cheerleader coach at East Ridge High School was charged with raping a 15-year-old male student who attended the school, officials said.

Hunter Allen Huling, 20, of East Ridge, was arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, said Eddie Phillips, East Ridge deputy city manager.

While Mr. Huling was a volunteer cheerleader coach, the student victim was not a cheerleader, Chief Phillips said. Both assaults happened off campus beginning in the month of July, the chief said.

Hamilton County School Board spokeswoman Danielle Clark said Mr. Huling was dismissed as a coach earlier this school year and hasn't been back on the school campus since.

Mr. Huling was transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where he was still in custody on Thursday night, according to a jail officer.

He is being held on $20,000 bond and is scheduled to be in East Ridge Municipal Court on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., Chief Phillips said.

OMG I can not believe all of this was going on. It's one thing to make the decision for yourself but to push it on a 15 year old kid who trusted you..wow really??? I also Cheered at United Cheerleading where I clearly remember Hunter I would have never imagined all of this. What I find even more humiliating is the fact that United Cheerleadings' name is all in the news and papers about Hunter being there and it not being addressed that this is not something that happens in the gym. I left United when Jay did and it is clear why now. Who ever took over United when he left clearly has no idea about how to address issues that your gym is clearly related to. I mean 100's of boys and girls run around that gym and to know that people there have been charged with such crimes scares me and many parents too. Maybe "Marshell" the new owner of United Cheerleading should call Jay pre-owner for some advice on how to keep the gym out of the news and papers. United Cheerleading stands for more then that for someone who is clearly just after the money to let the name be ran in the ground. I mean seriously stand up for the reputation of the gym if not for your wallet Marshell then maybe for the um i dont know...children whos parents pay 100s of dollars a month for them to attend the gym. Wow it's really sad stuff like this has to happen in order for us to see what some people really stand for. If anything could help that gym now it would be Jay taking it back over.....because by the looks of it now its heading south fast really fast. Then names of employees are now being brought into all of this..well all I can say is Andy is one of the best coaches United Cheerleading has ever had and I dare say if not for Andy that gym would have went under as soon as the new owner took it over. So what Hunter did is what Hunter answers for but since Marshell obviously cant stand up for United I will. So I hate all of this happend but let Hunter answer for what he did and not the reputation of others. As for United... get someone who can think outside the box. Someone who can do more then count the money they bring in each month..someone who has a little bit of pride and respect for the name United Cheerleading and all Jay made it stand for.
