Chattanooga: Police investigate 2 shootings with possible connection

Chattanooga Police are investigating two Wednesday afternoon shootings that may be related.

Ronald Eugene Glass Jr. was shot just before 2 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of 1917 Foust St. by several black males, according to Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Kim Noorbergen.

Mr. Glass was transported to Erlanger hospital and treated for a minor gunshot wound to his lower abdomen, she said.

Witnesses saw someone inside a small black car start firing a gun as the car crossed Foust Street, she said.

Shortly after 2 p.m., Roland Reynolds was shot while standing on a porch in the 1200 block of Grove Street, Lt. Noorbergen said.

Witnesses stated that a small black car stopped in front of the home before the rear passenger fired nine to 10 rounds. Mr. Reynolds was treated for a single gunshot wound to the hand at Erlanger, Lt. Noorbergen said.

Neither of the men’s injuries were life-threatening.

Police are looking for a late-model small black car, possibly a Ford Focus, Honda Accord or a Saturn, Lt. Noorbergen said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525.
