Mocs top receivers limited with injuries

Looking like they were ready for St. Patrick's Day, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wide receivers Blue Cooper, Clint Woods and Chris Pitchford stood together on the sideline in green no-contact jerseys during Tuesday's practice.

The three are the Mocs' top three receivers, with a combined 153 catches, and all were limited in practice because of shoulder injuries. Mocs coach Russ Huesman said he thought all three would be able to play in Saturday's season finale at second-ranked Alabama.

Woods sat out last week's win over The Citadel, and Cooper and Pitchford suffered minor shoulder injuries against the Bulldogs. Cooper leads UTC with 82 receptions, eight shy of the school single-season record held by Alonzo Nix. He's tied with Nix for fourth on the career receptions list with 150.

Defensive end Josh Beard sat out most of Tuesday's practice with a sprained ankle, and defensive tackle Pete Evans sat out due to illness. Both are expected to play Saturday.
