Charity seeks holiday help

The third "Unity in the Community" Thanksgiving Day lunch will be held Thursday in First Tennessee Pavilion.

The free meal for the city's homeless is sponsored by the Nehemiah Project. Beth Trussell of Nehemiah Project said the number served has grown each year.

"Last year, the Thanksgiving luncheon served more than 2,000. This year we believe attendance will be at an all-time high," she said.

Ms. Trussell said the nonprofit is in need of donations of food items to prepare the meal as well as volunteers to help staff the event.

Anyone wishing to donate or volunteer should contact Ms. Trussell at 355-4093 or e-mail nehemiahpro@aol.com.
