Boating update

Rescue workers operate out of command center near the Nickajack Dam on Sunday as they search for three of five boaters from a fishing boat that overturned late Saturday night. Two of the boaters, suffering from hypothermia, were rescued from the Tennessee River.

A search is under way in Marion County for three people missing after a boat overturned in the Tennessee River below Nickajack Dam.

The search began about 8 p.m. Saturday evening after the boat overturned in turbulence near the dam, according to Joey Wray, assistant supervisor of Area 32 for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Two people were pulled from the water and taken to a hospital for treatment, but three are still missing and the search is continuing.
