An Ooltewah woman died Saturday night from injuries received in a traffic accident at the intersection of Highway 58 and Mahan Gap Road, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 9200 block of Highway 58 earlier at approximately 6:47 p.m. on a traffic crash involving two vehicles, according to a news release from Janice Atkinson, public information officer with the sheriff’s office.
The first vehicle was found to be a 2000 Honda driven by Rhonda L. Morgan, 23, of an Ooltewah address. The second vehicle involved was a 2001 Chevrolet truck, driven by Vernon Norwood, 67, of Illinois.
Ms. Morgan was stopped at the intersection of Mahan Gap Road and 58 Highway before she pulled out into the path of Mr. Norwood, who was traveling northbound on Highway 58.
