Police looking for drive-by shooting suspect

Chattanooga police are looking for a suspect in a drive-by shooting Wednesday, officials said.

Clarence Lebron Burton, 17, also called “Man-Man,” was identified as the shooter in the incident about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, said Officer Rebecca Royval, a police department spokeswoman.

The victim, Ronald Glass, was standing on the sidewalk at 1917 Foust St. and was fired at several times from a black, four-door vehicle, Officer Royval said.

Mr. Burton is accused of shooting at Mr. Glass, hitting him once in the abdomen, she said. The vehicle fled the scene, and Mr. Glass was taken to Erlanger hospital, she said.

Warrants have been issued for Mr. Burton on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and felony reckless endangerment, she said.

Mr. Burton is black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

His last known address is 1104 E. 33rd St., Chattanooga, she said.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Burton, call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333.

Your confidential call could make you eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
