Hamilton County: Woman killed in traffic accident

A female driver was killed after pulling out in front of a truck at the intersection of state Highway 58 and Mahan Gap Road this evening, officials said.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles around 6:45 this evening, said the sheriff’s office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

Rhonda Morgan, 23, who was driving a Honda, pulled out in front of Vernon Norwood, 67 of Illinois, driving a Chevrolet truck on Highway 58, she said.

Mr. Norwood was transported to Erlanger hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Ms. Morgan was pronounced dead on arrival, she said.

The accident is still under investigation by the sheriff’s office, Ms. Atkinson said.
