Chattanooga: Police probing home invasion, shooting

Chattanooga police are investigating a home invasion and shooting that occurred about 11 p.m. Sunday at 1008 North Hawthorne St.

Marcus Robinson, 27, and Lakasha Hughes, 24, told police they were watching TV when they heard a knock at the door, police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Royval said in a news release.

Thinking it was a neighbor, Mr. Robinson opened the door, at which time someone put a gun to his head. Two men entered the apartment and threatened to shoot, Officer Royval said.

One pushed Mr. Robinson into the kitchen and took money from his pockets. As one intruder started to leave, Mr. Robinson ran toward his bedroom and was shot in the left arm, Officer Royval said.

Mr. Robinson was taken to Erlanger hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police are looking for the armed male described as 16 to 22 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and wearing a mask and red-hooded sweatshirt.

The other man is described as a male 15 to 16 years old and wearing khaki pants and a white-hooded sweatshirt.
