La-Z-Boy says no layoffs set

An official for La-Z-Boy's Rhea County, Tenn., plant said Monday that no large employee layoffs are imminent for the furniture maker.

Janet Earnhardt, the facility's human resources director, said a state notice issued Monday of 216 layoffs relate to job cuts announced earlier by the company.

With about 1,700 workers, the Dayton plant is the largest employer in Rhea County.
