Chattanooga: Six annexation lawsuits filed in chancery court

Hamilton County Residents Against Annexation filed six more lawsuits in Hamilton County Chancery Court today to stop annexation by the city.

The lawsuits filed include areas of Lookout Mountain, commercial properties along Highway 58 and a commercial area in Hixson off Hixson Pike, court records show.

The group has already filed a series of lawsuits trying to stop annexation of areas in Summit, East Brainerd and Ramsgate in Hixson.

Most of the annexation lawsuits are now complete. The only area now left that the anti-annexation group could file a lawsuit on is an area north of Old Lee Highway and Apison Pike that the city approved to annex almost three weeks ago.
