Obama went the wrong way, Corker says

Audio clip

Sen. Bob Corker

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said Wednesday morning that he thought President Barack Obama tackled the wrong problems first.

Sen. Corker, during an editorial board meeting at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, said the president should have handled Social Security and Medicare reform before taking up health care reform.

“I think the first thing he should have done is: Let’s fix Social Security and Medicare,” Sen. Corker said. “He disagreed. He thought we should spend a lot of money fixing other things.”

Every time Sen. Corker speaks he validates my opinion that those with the most money don't necessarily make the best leaders. President Obama and the Democratic Congress know exactly what they want and they methodically achieved their goals without any substantive Republican opposition whatsoever. From removing Bush's blocks on SCHIP, to enacting hate crime legislation, to enacting laws allowing women more recourse in addressing pay discrimination -- the list goes on, all without Republican opposition because Republicans have been preoccupied with denying Americans health insurance reform.

Senator Corker, at this point in the debate you're no more than a casual observer. I suggest you take notes.

Senator Corker is absolutely correct. Rather than throwing taxpayer dollars at the automotive industry, which should have been able to predict and prevent their financial problems; Obama focused on his "pet" project - health care reform. And, Obama focused on HIS pet project without regard to the cost that taxpayers will incur because of his version of health care reform. It didn't matter that most Americans are more concerned with social security, medicare and foreign affairs. Nothing matters to Obama except HIS agenda - this nation has become the "Socialist Republic of Obama" now rather than the United States of "Americans". Stay strong Sen. Corker and stand up for the real needs of America.

What you attribute to brilliant leadership on the part of the looters currently in control is merely the reality that a party controlling both houses of Congress and the White House can do whatever it wants. The Republicans can block nothing, even if they want to.

The only reason government run health care has not passed is that there are enough Democrats in Congress who know that their leaders are trying to shove a bad idea down our throats. Were it not for blatant bribery, they would not have gotten the votes needed to even debate the subject in the Senate.
