Collegedale has a new auto repair shop, Import Motor Works, behind Woodlee’s Appliance on Ooltewah-Ringold Road. Ben Spears is the owner and mechanic on duty. But he isn't just any old run-of-the-mill mechanic, he’s an National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence Certified Master Automobile Technician, and he went the extra mile and got trained as an Advanced Level Specialist. Mr. Spears is about as Collegedale as you can get. He is the grandson of Don and Shirley Spears, the son of Richard Spears, and his brother is a Collegedale police officer. Throw in that he was also trained by Larry Williams and Dale Walters and is the son-in-law of Pastor Mike Petingil. His phone number is 238-7600.
