Staff Photo by Lesley Onstott Marion County Wildlife Officers continue to search for the bodies of the boaters near the Nickajack Dam with the use of cameras Friday. One of the officers, Russell Vandergriff, said the men had two hours to search with the use of the cameras.

Searchers found a man’s body about 6 p.m. CST today at the Nickajack Dam in Marion County, almost a week after three Dalton, Ga., boaters went missing.

The body has been sent to Grandview Medical Center in Jasper, Tenn., according to Steve Lamb, director of the Marion County Emergency Medical Services.

The body was found in the “general vicinity” of where the boat disappeared last Saturday, Mr. Lamb said.

Identification must be made by the Marion County medical examiner, he said.

Mr. Lamb wouldn’t say whether the body was one of the boaters, but “based on the location, there’s a good possibility.”

On Thursday, searchers found what could be human remains in the river about three miles downstream from the dam, Mr. Lamb said. Those remains have been turned over to the Marion County medical examiner, he said.
