Volkswagen staff helps build home

Twenty Volkswagen employees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga on Nov. 21. The VW staff completed installation of foam board on the Chris Horne Memorial Habitat House, which is being built for Michelle Moore.

Two teams of 10 came out, said Habitat's Director of Development John Lamb, and for many it was their first time volunteering with Habitat. The workers put in a total of 57 hours.

"It was great. The first group practically ate lunch with one hand and hammered with the other," said Habitat's Director of Volunteers Dawn Stoike.

"It amazes me to think that people take time out of their busy lives to work for free and help me build my house. I never knew people like that before Habitat," Ms. Moore said.
