7 shooting victims sent to Erlanger

Two area shootings this morning have resulted in seven people being sent to Erlanger hospital, according to officials.

About 3:30 a.m., Frederick Fortson, Ernest Bulloch and Michael Hughey were hit by gunfire, said Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary in a news release.

A fourth man with them — Corey Jones — was not hit, she said.

Witnesses told police the men were in front of a residence at 416 S. Kelly St. when unknown persons approached and began firing at the group, Sgt. Weary said.

When police arived, Mr. Fortson was unresponsive and taken to Erlanger hospital in critical condition. Mr. Bulloch was shot in the hip and both legs. Mr. Hughey was shot in the calf and foot. Both also were taken to Erlanger for their injuries, Sgt. Weary said.

Investigators are working to develop leads in the case, she said.

About 30 minutes prior to that shooting, in Bridgeport, Ala., four people were shot in the parking lot at Fat Boys Bar and Grill, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

The bar is located on Highway 277.

Jackson County Chief Deputy Chuck Phillips said they have identified the suspected gunman as Christopher Allen Kerr Jr., 28, of County Road 135 in Stevenson, Ala.

Mr. Kerr is described as a white male, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Chief Deputy Phillips said Mr. Kerr left the scene of the shooting in a 1994 faded teal green two-door Thunderbird with Alabama license tag number AZ75802.

Anyone with information on Mr. Kerr’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Jackson County Sherrif’s Department at 256-574-2610.

I have a gun and a gun permit. The gun and the gun permit were very easy to get. Besides the back ground check all I had to do is take an eight hour class that included four hours on the range and four hours in the classroom. I did it on a Saturday.

Gun ownership in most countries is illegal. Gun homicides in these countries is small in comparison to the 10,828 in the United States. Canada 183, Germany 103, England 73, Australia 65, Switzerland 36, Sweden 33, Austria 27, Japan 27, New Zealand 3.

Gun sales in the United States is a very profitable business. Remington Arms Company earnings before interest and tax were $70.8 million. According to Hoovers the US gun and ammunition manufacturing industry includes about 200 companies with combined annual revenue of $2 billion. The industry produces about 3 million guns per year.

The bottom line is the gun manufactures make too much money to ever let the people change or modify the second amendment. So I propose that instead of gun control we need to have every single American citizen buy at least one gun. In addition, we should all get permits to carry them but I think we should change the law so that we can carry them in a visible holster instead of concealing them.

Remember I have a gun and four hours on the gun range so if you need help let me know because I think it would be great to shoot and kill someone today.

Regards,

Chris

Chris - If , in fact, you have a gun and an HCP, be happy there is no mental test - you would fail. Ahhh but I guess there are loons in every crowd.

Congrats - you may have set a new high, or low, for stupid statements.
