Fleischmann reports warchest of $372,000

Chattanooga attorney Chuck Fleischmann, who led Tennessee's 3rd Congressional District race in fundraising last quarter, on Wednesday reported having raised $372,000 between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30.

The Republican raised about $157,000 in the period between July 1 and Sept. 30, according to the Federal Election Web site. He had raised $215,000 as of June 30, records show.

About two-thirds of his total funds -- $255,000 -- came from his own pocket, the Web site shows.

On Tuesday, 3rd District candidate Robin Smith, former chairwoman of the Tennessee Republican Party, reported about $150,000 in funds raised. Art Rhodes, of Cleveland, also a Republican, has raised about $111,000, according to the FEC Web site.

The only other candidate who has filed a report is businessman Mark DeVol, who reported about $1,000 raised.

The due date for financial reports in thel race is Thursday.

Other Republican candidates are Bradley County Sheriff Tim Gobble, businessman Tommy Crangle and engineer Greg Goodwin.

Former Tennessee Commerce and Insurance Commissioner Paula Flowers and systems analyst Brent Benedict are running on the Democratic side.
