Chattanooga: Crews work on Davenport Field

Staff Photo by Allison Kwesell James Graves with Precision Sports Fields hand levels the corners of Finley Stadium on Tuesday.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s football team will not return to Finley Stadium until Halloween, but there is work being done at the facility.

Crews are redoing everything under the turf at Davenport Field to level the surface and fix some drainage issues that have caused some damage to the sand supporting the field. The damage has created some “potholes” under the surface.

The Friends of Finley fund paid for the work.
