Meth labs busted in north Alabama

DeKalb County, Ala., law officers seized seven meth labs at two locations and arrested four people Thursday night, according to a news release.

Acting on a tip, deputies and drug task force agents from the sheriff’s office and officers with the Ider Police Department searched a home on County Road 141 at Flat Rock. In a vehicle in the garage they found five one-pot meth cooking devices, chemicals and 3.5 grams of finished product, the release stated.

Amy Jones Blevins, 36, and Danny Ray Veal, 44, who live at the home, and Mark Anthony McKinney, 39, of Fort Payne, were arrested and charged with manufacturing meth and possession of controlled substances.

All three remained in jail awaiting bond on Friday, the release stated.

Two other meth labs were found during a separate search at a home in Henegar when officers were looking for a stolen minibike, the release stated. Officers also recovered a variety of stolen tools and other items.

The occupant, Erin Leigh Key, 30, was arrested and charged with manufacturing meth and receiving stolen property. She also remains in jail.
