Brookside offers affordable extras for young professionals

* Location: 6918 Park Drive, off Lee Highway, near the intersection with Shallowford Road.

* Status: Builders are putting the finishing touches on the first six of the 10-unit complex. Construction is just getting under way on the final four units, which will be slightly larger than those in the initial phase.

* Prices: The townhomes will begin at $124,900 and could go up to about $139,000 for the larger units.

* Amenities: The townhomes have luxury features including 9-foot ceilings on main level, crown molding and three-quarter-inch hardwood flooring in the foyer, living/dining area and hallways. Each unit comes standard with stainless steel appliances and is geared toward young professionals with high-tech extras such as the built-in speakers and a video surveillance camera and intercom at the door. The kitchen has granite countertops and custom cabinets with a convenient pass-through to the dining area. The master bedroom has tray ceilings, recessed lighting and a large walk-in closet with attic storage space.

* Other Features: Each unit has its own deck with a privacy wall and a level back yard. Brookside is convenient to the Hamilton Place area and just a few feet from area bus lines.

* Floor plans: Initial units are about 1,250 square feet with a bedroom and a full bath downstairs and the master bedroom and master bath with a 6-foot garden tub on the upper level. The final phase will consist of four 1,600-square-foot units with two master-sized bedrooms on the upper level.
