Corker fields questions from feisty Pikeville crowd

by Matt Wilson

U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., fielded questions today from a lunch crowd in Pikeville, Tenn., on topics including health care reform, the war in Afghanistan and a climate bill.

The crowd at the Main Street Diner was the feistiest on the Afghanistan issue, asking why Sen. Corker and other Republicans have not been more vocal in terms of demanding more troops.

Sen. Corker said he was in favor of sending more troops there, but first he would like military leaders to come to Washington, D.C., for a hearing.
