Equalize criticism of partisanship

In regard to Sen. Alexander's comments on Obama's enemies list and his frequent requests for bipartisanship.

Where was he during the Bush administration, which shut out MSNBC per Dana Perino?

Where was he when an aide to Karl Rove asked the GSA and other federal agencies to help Republican electoral chances?

Where was he when aides to Orrin Hatch hacked into the Democratic Senatorial e-mail system?

Where was he when the Republican leadership stripped the Democratic minority of traditional powers such as subpoena power, right to hold their own subcommittee hearings, and excluding them from House-Senate conference committees?

Could he be more bipartisan in his critique of partisanship?

ROD YOUNG

Rash Republicans out to sink Obama

The president has done an exceptional job considering the tremendous challenges left by Bush. Nevertheless, irresponsible Republicans want to destroy him. Lobbying for the Olympics was a mistake, but to laugh at him was un-American. If George Bush had done the same for Kennebunkport, which would have been a laugh, they would have praised him.

Criticizing Obama's Nobel Peace Prize was beyond the pale. That August body gave him this honor for changing the direction of the Bush years. Bush's dangerous policies got a 17 percent approval rating in the world. Obama understands diplomacy and is working for peace. Limbaugh, Fred Thompson, Anderson, Beck, and the other extremists can continue to whine.

I am amazed at the lies on the Internet! Some of these insult a person's intelligence. I subscribe to Newsweek, Time, U.S. News and World Report, The Nation, Mother Jones, The American Prospect, The Progressive, American Heritage, and three news letters. If Obama burps, I read about it.

Polls indicate many Tennesseans believe these lies. If these Tennesseans left our state for Wyoming, especially the fictitious "Ed and Liz," the IQ of both states would increase.

Don't subject all to religious beliefs

A letter praising the LFO cheerleaders for their religious banner also stated that the Constitution gives those cheerleaders the right to make the banners as long as banners with Buddha or Allah are also allowed. This may be true, but the letter still encouraged the cheerleaders to stand up for their faith and continue to make "those Christian banners."

Christian zealots would go into Warp 9 Overdrive if somebody showed up with a religious banner that was other than Christian in belief, and we all know it. In fact, they would probably be barred from the game.

Some of us come to the games because we enjoy the sport and do not want to be subjected to someone's religious values or beliefs. Leave them in the parking lot or with a team in a parochial school league where this sort of behavior is more appropriate.

Peeyew! More proof that true ignorance and delusional thinking (inspired by reading and listening to Liberal-Left trash) is the real reason for this country's decay. More proof that facts and evidence will never be found anywhere near the houses of the drugged.

With all due respect Mr. Markham Sr. from Signal Mountain, blaming all the "mess" President Obama faces on Bush sounds so familiar and so predictable. What we are facing as a nation, not just our President goes far beyond the past eight years and involves more than just President George W. Bush and the bad old Republicans. The way out of it will involve more than the President's or other political fixes being attempted. I feel for President Obama because he is the leader of a nation facing the most division since what led to the war between the states. That is a huge challenge. My concern is to keep on doing things that have been proven not to help. What should he do? That is an interesting question. Whatever he does, we will live in its wake for many years. I want to read how you and others respond when results of his exceptional job are fully realized one day. Will that be Reagan's fault?

I am really sorry to hear about civilians being killed in Pakastan and surrounding areas. And I dont understand why the goverments can't use an XRay device they use at the airports.
I rather be photoed then being blown up.You think this would be a great detergent for safty sake. I am really getting tired reading about the horrids that interupts my sentient of consciousness.

What ekes me is why "Wally World" advertises, great deals, when they are actually higher prices. I remember when 4 cans of cat food cost .96 cents for a 4 pack, now 6 months later the cost are 1.49 a 4 pack. I can go on and on about the higher cost of each item, then they have the audacity to advertise cheaper cost, saving you WHAT? Nothing. Because what they do is raise the price before the week ends and then up the price so the follow week they can lower it to the original price before the increase. Sure I can shop whereever, but it annoys me for a large box company to be so irrelevant and sneaky to the public. Shame on You.

Very well said and how true it is. There are many lies, untruths, and misinformation coming out og the Nations destroyers on the wrong "Right."
I see from the comments to your letter, that you all are being discredited for voicing the truth

Here is my answer to those people
Character and Judgment of people,
another way of saying it:

What can we say about any person's character and judgment if they deliberately give out false information? Then what are their true opinions of the people receiving this false information? Also there is something to be said about the people's character and honesty who knowingly continue accepting and using false information just for the purpose of winning whatever it is they are trying to win." Surely, there are not people who want to have their “life’s decisions” made on false information given to them by our elected leaders.
The point is that there are differences in the honest mistakes made and those mistakes deliberately made by persons in producing false information.
