2009 Gallery Hop

Tour 30 art venues on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m.

The fourth annual downtown gallery hop will give the public a chance to meet local artists, watch demonstrations and learn about the creative process first-hand.

To be held on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., the free event features 19 galleries, 11 artist studios and is produced by the Association for Visual Arts and sponsored by First Tennessee Bank.

"It allows people to get a broader sense of the extensive variety of art being created here in Chattanooga," said Christa Mannarino, director of AVA. "It is quickly becoming an annual celebration of creative expression by Chattanooga's growing artistic community and our continuing revitalization of downtown."

A brochure, containing a map and listing of galleries and artist studios, is available this week at participating galleries or can be obtained by calling 265-4282, ext. 106.
