Brew fest benefits Kids on the Block

What: 15th annual Southern Brewers Festival at Ross’s Landing.

Benefits:

Chattanooga Kids on the Block, sponsored by Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Highlights: More than 50 premium ales and lagers from 25 of the Southeast’s breweries, food, music by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Beth Hart, Ralph Roddenberry and Blues Hammer. Fants host Rally for the Cure event

What: Bobbie and Leonard Fant host a Rally for the Cure golf tournament.

Where: Battlefield Golf and Country Club, Ringgold, Ga.

Benefits: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Chattanooga affiliate. Mr. Fant is a breast cancer survivor.

About Rally for the Cure: Supports the Komen Foundation through golf or tennis tournaments across the country. Participants pay a $20 entry fee; 100 percent of money raised benefits the nonprofit.

Bright School launches annual drive

What: Bright School holds picnic for parents and alumni at Cross Creek Farms. Benefits: School’s Annual Fund. Guests were invited to join the school’s 1913 Club, recognizing donors of $1,913 or more. Highlights: Barbecue from Sticky Fingers and music by the Kathy Tugman Quartet.

About Bright School:

The independent elementary school serves children in grades preK-5. Bikers ride for Celebrate Recovery

What: Thirty-five bikers ride in Oakwood Baptist Church’s Bikers on Mission’s first card run.

Benefits: Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered program for “anyone struggling with any hurt, habit, or hang-up.”

About Celebrate Recovery:

Meets weekly at 6 p.m. at two of Oakwood’s church campuses: in Chickamauga, Ga., on Friday nights and the Germantown campus on Sunday nights.
