Man killed in Marion County shooting

A South Pittsburg, Tenn., man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of Oak Street, according to police.

The victim, identified as Stephen Orr, age unknown, appeared to have been working on his car when a gunman fired once with a small-caliber pistol, said Sgt. Tim Hudson of the South Pittsburg Police Department.

Mr. Orr was unarmed, and the shooting occurred at about 1 p.m. Central time, Sgt. Hudson said.

A suspect identified as Jareese Edwards, 18, is in the custody of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and is set to appear before a judge today, the sergeant said.
