Chattanooga: Central High coach killed in morning crash

Alcohol and excessive speed may have contributed to a fatal car accident that claimed the life of a Central High School assistant volleyball coach, police said.

Jessica Stoker, 21, was killed when she lost control of her vehicle while traveling north in Interstate 75 near the Interstate 24 interchange, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, police spokeswoman.

The accident happened about 3 a.m. Wednesday, the sergeant said.

“After she lost control of her vehicle, she was ejected from the vehicle,” Sgt. Weary said. “She was taken to Erlanger hospital where she was pronounced dead.”
