Catoosa spring shut down; water conservation asked

Customers of Catoosa County Water Co. are asked to conserve as much water as they can because the company has had to stop drawing water from its spring-fed source.

Jerry Lee with the company said the heavy rains have flooded the spring and the utility is getting all its water from Tennessee-American and Eastside Utility District.

But the water lines from those sources are too small to fully supply customers, Mr. Lee said.

He asked users to cut back on washing dishes and clothes and find other ways to reduce consumption “for the next two or three days until this big rain is out of here.”
